Diamond & Once In A Blue Moo by Moo Moo Signatures

onceinabluemoo(2)

Hi everyone! It is a long weekend over here in Singapore as we are celebrating our 50th year of independence!

Today I am very excited to share with you a new to me brand by Moo Moo Signatures though I am not unfamiliar with its creator. She is none other than the owner of Mei Mei Signatures.

Other than being a stockist for a wide range of indie polish brands she actually has a full time job and now she has ventured in to needle felting and making her own brand of polishes! And not forgetting she has a life outside of all those mayhem too! Sometimes I suspect she is not a human but actually a supersonic machine. I simply cannot comprehend how she does all that. I started buying nail polishes from her when I started my addiction a few years ago and she has the most impeccable customer service which I have mentioned a couple of times before! Through all that I have been fortunate to become great friends with her!

Let’s move on to the pretty stuff shall we?

Diamond which I have on my ring fingernail is described as an ultra strong silver holographic polish accented with sterling silver micro silver flakies and small amount of tiny green and red flakies. Application was a cinch and covered my nail beautifully in two coats. I don’t usually buy silver holographic polish these days as there are just too many variations out there but this is just so sparkly and flattering on the nails! I added the blue star studs to amp up the look more. I do have to apologies that I did not manage to capture it as beautifully as it actually is.

Next we have Once In A Blue Moo that just took my breath away! It is an insanely gorgeous blurple (blue & purple mix) crelly base with colour shifting tiny purple and green flakies. It was a very saturated, opaque and a dream to apply. This was said to be a one coater but it is rare that a polish could be one coater on my big nail bed. The only advise I would give is to apply less strokes on the same area to avoid dragging and creating bald spots as it dried pretty fast. No fault on its formula at all but just a better technic to apply this. I used two coats with topcoat on the rest of my fingernails. Btw this looks great without topcoat too creating a suede like effect.onceinabluemoo(5)onceinabluemoo(4)onceinabluemooonceinabluemoo(6)onceinabluemoo(1)onceinabluemoo(7)onceinabluemoo(3)onceinabluemoo(8)

Mei Mei knows what she is doing and she does it with perfection on these. I absolutely love both of them but Once In A Blue Moo just took my breath away a million times more! Great job my dear friend!

Mei Mei told me that the current version of Diamond has gone in to remission but a new rendition is coming soon! So do look out for that as I am sure it will be just as gorgeous!

You can purchase Moo Moo Signatures’ polishes (Big 3 Free) and if you are in to needle felting don’t forget to check out her Moo Moo too (they are cute as a button!) over HERE.

Don’t forget to follow Moo Moo Signatures’ Facebook and Moo Moo Signatures’ Instagram for any updates!

Good Evening Clarice & Money by Different Dimension

Hello March! It’s March already??!

I was through my stash hoping to use some of the unused old colours and to my dismay I found a few of them have changed colour. I don’t expect any indie polishes or the mainstream polishes for that matter to last forever. After all they are chemicals. I blame myself for not using them soon. I noticed that neon and purple hues tend to be the ones that change colour.

Today I am going to show you two old colours that fortunately remain gorgeously intact in its original state – Money and Good Evening Clarice by Different Dimension. I decided to pair them together in this swatch as they complimented each other very well.

Good Evening Clarice (thumb, index and pinkie) from the 2013 Halloween Silence Of The Lamb collection is a pale minty green with scattered holo and the best part is it glows in the dark! Formula was a little sheer than I preferred and kind of uneven. It glows prominently in green in the dark. I used 3 coats with topcoat.

Money (middle and ring) from the Echoes collection is a white crelly base heavily loaded with gold, yellow, neon green hex and squares glitters and also my favourite large round glitters in blue, silver and black. Formula was a little sheer and you can spot some visible nail line at 3 coats. Application was easy and no fishing required. Two layers of topcoat were added.money by different dimension

I am a little disappointed with GEC’s formula but at least the strong gitd effect made it forgivable. Money was what I expected of; very pretty to look at.

As both of these were limited edition and have since been discontinued. Sorry to tease you all.

Different Dimension is available at Big Cartel, Mei Mei Signatures, and Rainbow Connection to name a few.

Hole In The Sky by Emily de Molly

Happy weekend everyone! I was out all day yesterday, had brunch with my family and did a little shopping in town after that. Usually I prefer to stay home and chill on a weekend plus Singapore’s high humidity hot weather proves to be too much for me to be out and about. So it was kind of an eventful weekend for me in my opinion.

Anyhow today I have for you Hole In The Sky by Emily de Molly. The mix of silver, periwinkle and lavender hex and dot glitters just blended nicely in that sweet baby blue crème base. Application was really easy and I couldn’t ask for a better formula. You do need to let the bottle sit upside down for a bit as the glitters may settle to the bottom of the bottle. You probably can get away with 2 coats on a shorter nails but I used 3 for mine. Topcoat was added.emily de molly hole in the skyemily de molly hole in the sky(1)emily de molly hole in the sky(3)emily de molly hole in the sky(4)emily de molly hole in the sky(2)emily de molly hole in the sky(5)

I adore this very much, it looked so sweet on the nails and I actually got a few compliments when I wore a full mani last week. And I think this is an appropriate polish to wear for a baby boy shower party, don’t you think?

Emily de Molly, a 5-free Australian polish, can be obtained at her Big Cartel store . I purchased my bottle through Mei Mei Signatures.

Glam Polish Bubble Breeze

Happy weekend everyone! Sorry we have been out of action for a short bit but today I’m back with a gorgeous Glam Polish colour to show you.

This is Bubble Breeze. It is a crelly aqua blue base with blue and silver hex and dot glitters in various sizes. The formula was a little thin and sheer but I am happy to report that no fishing was needed. You can certainly wear this on its own but you will probably need at least 3 coats to cover up the visible nail line. I chose to use 1 coat over 2 coats of Essence Let’s Get Lost and a coat of topcoat.glam polish bubble breezeglam polish bubble breeze(1)glam polish bubble breeze(2)glam polish bubble breeze(3)glam polish bubble breeze(4)

I really love that it is so sparkly and complimented against my skin tone. Thumbs up for sure!

Unfortunately this has been discontinued. I don’t mean to tease you with a gorgeous colour but Glam Polish has a lot of other beautiful creations and I am sure your head will get dizzy with the galore choices at her store or over at her international stockist.

Enchantment by Black Cat Lacquer

Hi polish world! Today’s post going to be quick as I have a bit of spring cleaning to do on my computer. Let’s dive in to swatches shall we?

Enchantment by Black Cat Lacquer is an exclusive shade created for Mei Mei Signatures. If you have been buying and interacting with Mei Mei Signatures you will know that pink is a signature colour to her style and store. But Enchantment is not a pink and I think it is quite a refreshing change.

It is a pale yellow crème base with subtle gold shimmers and densely packed with white, silver, pink, yellow and lavender hex, round and star glitters. The formula is a little thick and since it is so densely packed with glitters extra care was needed during application. I found that applying with less glitters on the first coat worked better. Two coats were all that I needed for the photos. Top coat was added.black cat lacquer enchantmentblack cat lacquer enchantment(1)black cat lacquer enchantment(3)black cat lacquer enchantment(2)black cat lacquer enchantment(4)

Despite it being a little thick I really like the mixes of colours. The combo reminds me of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles!

Enchantment is exclusively available at Mei Mei Signatures retailing for SGD$14.

EMS Recombination & Moonlight by Indigo Bananas

Happy Lunar New Year! Sorry we have been missing in action for a little bit, we were busy celebrating the Lunar New year, basically having a lot of fun and feasting too much! Haha!

Anyway today I am going to show you swatches of EMS Recombination and Moonlight (Clair De Lune) created by Indigo Bananas.

EMS Recombination is a bright green duochrome jelly base filled with glass flecks. It shifts from green to a faint pink but it was quite tough to see the shift mostly. The formula was a little thin and I could still spot some bald patches at two coats, but a third coat will fix that. The photos showing 3 coats and top coat.recombinationrecombination(1)recombination(2)recombination(3)recombination(4)

Moonlight (Clair De Lune) is a super, major disco ball like silver flecks in a clear base. I mean this is really glaring! I almost needed sunglasses for this! It is that sparkly! It was mentioned in the creators’ listing that it contains holographic microglitters too but to be honest with that glare I don’t think it is easy to spot them. Formula is good and a breeze to apply. You can choose to use it as a topper or on its own like I did for the photos. I used 3 coats for the photos. Because it is so bling I decided to accent (or rather toned it down) the ring fingers with two coat of Zoya Dahlia (textured).moonlightmoonlight(1)moonlight(2)moonlight(3)

I personally like EMS Recombination. If you like bling you will dig Moonlight. I don’t think I have seen anything as bling as this.

You can find Indigo Bananas HERE or over at Mei Mei Signatures.

Dance Legend Termo Shine 180

Today I am very excited to share with you a very gorgeous thermal polish from Dance Legend. I actually swatched this last night and totally fell in love with it right away and can’t wait to post this up.

Dance Legend Thermo Shine 180 is unlike many thermal polishes that I own, instead of just being the usual crème base this actually contains glitters. On my nails and in the warm state it showed a translucent grey and transitioned in to a black when cold. The silver glitters added an edgy look to it and complimented the two shades really well. I totally love it! The jelly formula was a little thick and sheer so I used 3 coats for my photos with topcoat. The dry time was a little slow too. I went a little crazy with the photos because I just love love love this so much.

Have I said enough that I love this? The dramatic contrast of the colour with the silver glitters just make this really unique and a must have in my opinion. If I had to complain, I wished that all Dance Legend’s polishes came with a smaller brush cap for easier grip.

You can purchase Dance Legend at their official website HERE. But a word of caution, Russian Post are notoriously slow, I once had an order that took four months to reach me. Otherwise Dance Legend can also be found at Ninja Polish and Color4nails
