Diamond & Once In A Blue Moo by Moo Moo Signatures

onceinabluemoo(2)

Hi everyone! It is a long weekend over here in Singapore as we are celebrating our 50th year of independence!

Today I am very excited to share with you a new to me brand by Moo Moo Signatures though I am not unfamiliar with its creator. She is none other than the owner of Mei Mei Signatures.

Other than being a stockist for a wide range of indie polish brands she actually has a full time job and now she has ventured in to needle felting and making her own brand of polishes! And not forgetting she has a life outside of all those mayhem too! Sometimes I suspect she is not a human but actually a supersonic machine. I simply cannot comprehend how she does all that. I started buying nail polishes from her when I started my addiction a few years ago and she has the most impeccable customer service which I have mentioned a couple of times before! Through all that I have been fortunate to become great friends with her!

Let’s move on to the pretty stuff shall we?

Diamond which I have on my ring fingernail is described as an ultra strong silver holographic polish accented with sterling silver micro silver flakies and small amount of tiny green and red flakies. Application was a cinch and covered my nail beautifully in two coats. I don’t usually buy silver holographic polish these days as there are just too many variations out there but this is just so sparkly and flattering on the nails! I added the blue star studs to amp up the look more. I do have to apologies that I did not manage to capture it as beautifully as it actually is.

Next we have Once In A Blue Moo that just took my breath away! It is an insanely gorgeous blurple (blue & purple mix) crelly base with colour shifting tiny purple and green flakies. It was a very saturated, opaque and a dream to apply. This was said to be a one coater but it is rare that a polish could be one coater on my big nail bed. The only advise I would give is to apply less strokes on the same area to avoid dragging and creating bald spots as it dried pretty fast. No fault on its formula at all but just a better technic to apply this. I used two coats with topcoat on the rest of my fingernails. Btw this looks great without topcoat too creating a suede like effect.onceinabluemoo(5)onceinabluemoo(4)onceinabluemooonceinabluemoo(6)onceinabluemoo(1)onceinabluemoo(7)onceinabluemoo(3)onceinabluemoo(8)

Mei Mei knows what she is doing and she does it with perfection on these. I absolutely love both of them but Once In A Blue Moo just took my breath away a million times more! Great job my dear friend!

Mei Mei told me that the current version of Diamond has gone in to remission but a new rendition is coming soon! So do look out for that as I am sure it will be just as gorgeous!

You can purchase Moo Moo Signatures’ polishes (Big 3 Free) and if you are in to needle felting don’t forget to check out her Moo Moo too (they are cute as a button!) over HERE.

Don’t forget to follow Moo Moo Signatures’ Facebook and Moo Moo Signatures’ Instagram for any updates!

Time To Pretend by Enchanted Polish

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been missing around here. I just came back from a wonderful honeymoon in Japan. I wished that I could turn back the time and be there again but have to face the reality, right?

In conjunction with the restock of the Time To Pretend collection by Enchanted Polish over at Mei Mei Signatures tomorrow night I am going to show you swatches of Time To Pretend. This collection has six colours but due to a chip on my middle nail on the swatch hand I can only show you Time To Pretend in fear of aggrevating the chip further.

Time To Pretend is multichrome with strong linear holo in a jelly base. In my light box it shifted more to purple and blue, the copper and red came to life in low lightings and my favourite shift would be in the sun as it shifted to a darker purple and blue with the linear holo in your face. The formula is what we expected of from Enchanted Polish, excellent and easy to apply.

The last two photos were shot with flash and in the sun on my Iphone 6 plus respectively. I used 3 coats with topcoat for the photos.time to pretend by enchanted polishtime to pretend by enchanted polish(1)time to pretend by enchanted polish(2)time to pretendtime to pretend by enchanted polish(3)time to pretend by enchanted polish(5)time to pretend by enchanted polish(4)time to pretend by enchanted polish(6)time to pretend by enchanted polish(7)

Now you all already know how hard it is to score almost any colour from Enchanted Polish especially when it is too pretty like Time To Pretend. So good luck to any of you trying to score this from tomorrow’s restock over at Mei Mei Signatures Mei Mei Signatures Bigcartel at 6PM (Singapore time).

Good luck!

Counting Stars by Too Fancy Lacquer

Hi all! Sorry I have been missing in action for a bit as I’ve been busying with family events and outings for the past two weekends which left me a little drained out but totally worth it. Nothing is more blissful than quality time with my family.

Anyhow today I have for you Counting Stars by Too Fancy Lacquer. First of all let me start by saying I love the name of this polish. The name of this polish is the title of one of my favourite song by One Republic. I do not know if the name was inspired by the song but I am hoping it is!

Counting Stars is a gorgeous multichrome colour that flashes purple, blue to teal with gold flakies. The multichrome shift are very prominent and the gold flakies totally amp up the gorgeousness. This is quite opaque, slightly on the thick side but I did not have any trouble with applications. I used two coats and topcoat for my photos. And for those people who dislikes strong polish smell, this is a great polish to own as I noticed that the smell is very very mild. This is a love for me!counting stars by too fancy lacquer(1)counting stars by too fancy lacquercounting stars by too fancy lacquer(3)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(4)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(5)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(2)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(6)

To be honest I was contemplating to get this at first but I am so glad that I added this to the cart. Totally love it!

I purchased my bottle of Counting Stars from Mei Mei Signatures, else you can find Too Fancy Lacquer over at her Bigcartel Store.

Across The Universe by Enchanted Polish

Hi everyone! Sorry we have been missing in action for a bit, just got so tied up with work, life and plus a slight encounter with the flu and fever. I am all well now just in time for the weekend.

Anyway not going to be rambling too much as my mind is pretty disturbed by the tragic news of Malaysian Airline MH17. Though I do not know of anyone on that ill fated plane, Malaysia is Singapore’s neighbour so it does feel like one of ours had been attacked. I just wished that the victim’s families and friends get the answers they want as quickly as possible and hopefully overcome their grieves soon.

Today’s swatch post will be featuring Across The Universe by Enchanted Polish.

Across The Universe is a multichrome holographic that has several colour shifting characters. It prominently flashes blue, purple, magenta then brown at different angles. You can use this on its own but the formula is a little sheer so you may need at least 3 coats to get it opaque. I prefer to use it over a dark base like black to intensify the multichrome effect. Application was great without any brushstrokes in sight. Photos are showing 2 coats over 1 coat of KbShimmer Eclipse and topcoat.

Across The Universe indeed is a beauty and definitely one of my favourite prized EP.

Across The Universe is an old shade and has become a hard-to-find and likely expensive to buy colour. Otherwise Enchanted Polish is sold at its main website HERE or at international stockist like Mei Mei Signatures, Femme Fatale Cosmetics.

Nostalgia by Polished by KPT

Good day everyone! Today’s post going to be quick featuring Nostalgia by Polished by KPT.

Nostalgia is a thermal colour changing polish. Its colour changes from a dusty pale gray when warm to a dark purple when cold. And it is loaded with goodness of duochrome shimmers that shift from violet to green. The shift to green shimmers are not easily visible unless at a certain angles. Formula was great with no application issue and 2 coats were enough for coverage. Pardon me as the swatch looked a little wrinkled. This is what happened when I get impatient and dip my nails in to icy cold water without letting the polish dry enough. You are seeing 2 coats plus topcoat.nostalgia by lacquer lustnostalgia by lacquer lust(1)nostalgia by lacquer lust(3)nostalgia by lacquer lust(2)

This is definitely a like for me! Nice colour contrast and good formula.

Nostalgia is out of stock at Polished by KPT and its international stockists but it is still available at Rainbow Connection UK.

KbShimmer Spring Collection 2013

I have for you today KbShimmer Spring Collection 2013. I know I’m a year overdue with these swatches but hey better late than never right? There are 9 colours in this collection and I have all but Square Away and Pastel Me More to show you.

Spring Training is soft mint crelly complimented with blue, red, pink, lavender and gold glitters in various shapes and sizes. Formula was a little thin but not runny. This was supposed to have a hint of freesia scent but I didn’t notice it at all, probably because the scent has faded after a year. This was a breezy 3 coats application with topcoat.kbshimmer spring trainingkbshimmer spring training(4)kbshimmer spring training(3)kbshimmer spring training(1)

Where My Peeps At is a fun looking yellow crelly with pink, magenta, blue, green and gold dot glitters and some micro glitters. Despite it being a little thin application was great and not runny. I totally dig dot glitters and like the yellow again my skin tone. This was 3 coats with topcoat.kbshimmer where my peeps atkbshimmer where my peeps at(1)kbshimmer where my peeps at(2)kbshimmer where my peeps at(3)

Lottie Dottie is a white crelly with magenta and blue dot glitters and tiny bar glitters. I’m usually not a fan of bar glitters but as long as they are tiny and not sticking out of the nail somewhere. Application was easy peasy. Photos are showing 3 coats with topcoat.kbshimmer lottie dottiekbshimmer lottie dottie(1)kbshimmer lottie dottie(4)kbshimmer lottie dottie(3)kbshimmer lottie dottie(2)

Iris My Case is a creamy lilac base with purple, white, blue, pink and white hex glitters in various sizes. Application was a breeze once again with 3 thin coats. I like that it translate a soft sweet look on the nails. Topcoat was added.kbshimmer iris my casekbshimmer iris my case(3)kbshimmer iris my case(2)kbshimmer iris my case(4)

Get Clover It is an emerald green jelly base with green and gold dot glitters and micro glitters. I appreciate that the formula was made thin so that it is easy to build up for the depth to peek through the layers. I prefer it on its own and you can achieve opacity with 3 coats. Topcoat was added.kbshimmer get clover itkbshimmer get clover(1) itkbshimmer get clover(3) itkbshimmer get clover(2) itkbshimmer get clover(4) it

A Dot Mess is a clear base glitter topper with magenta and black dot glitters, tiny bar glitters and micro glitters. Application was fuss free and no fishing required. Photos are showing 1 coat over 2 coats of OPI Pink Friday with topcoat. I’m on the fence with this one. It looked kinda too busy on the nails (a dot mess indeed) for my liking. Apt name though! kbshimmer a dot messkbshimmer a dot mess(1)kbshimmer a dot mess(3)kbshimmer a dot mess(2)

I saved the best for last; I Got A Crush On Blue is a breathtaking deep blue jelly base with holographic silver glitters in various sizes. Application was excellent and smooth though some slight fishing for the bigger glitters required. Typically with this type of densely packed glitter polish I like to paint the first coat with fewer glitters and more on the second and third coat to prevent it from dragging. It is so sparkly and breathtaking that it reminds me of sapphire gemstones and diamonds. This will go in to one of my all time favourite indies! Photos are showing 3 coats and a coat of topcoat.kbshimmer i got a crush on bluekbshimmer i got a crush on blue(1)kbshimmer i got a crush on blue(3)kbshimmer i got a crush on blue(2)kbshimmer i got a crush on blue(4)kbshimmer i got a crush on blue(5)

This is a very well executed collection I must say. I am fond of Get Clover It, Lottie Dottie but the crown goes to I Got A Crush On Blue without a doubt!

Some of these colours are still available for purchase over at Kbshimmer online store and Harlow & Co..

The Butterfly Lovers Collection by Indigo Bananas

Hi everyone! Today’s post will feature a trio exclusively available only to Mei Mei Signatures created by Indigo Bananas – The Butterfly Lover Collection. The inspiration behind this trio is from the tragic story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Ying Tai, the Chinese rendition of Romeo and Juliet. If you are keen on reading about this star crossed fictional love story Wikipedia will give you an idea.

Liang Shanbo Is In Doubt is a nude brown with linear holo. It was said to have contained green shimmer but unfortunately it was not noticeable. The first coat glided on easily but the second and third coat went on rather thick. It dried pretty fast and topcoat did not dull the strong holo effect. You probably can get away with two coats for shorter nail length but I had to use three for my big nail beds.indigo bananas liang shanbo is in doubtindigo bananas liang shanbo is in doubt(1)indigo bananas liang shanbo is in doubt(2)indigo bananas liang shanbo is in doubt(3)

Zhu Yingtai Is A Lady is a gorgeous purple with strong linear holo and complimented with gold flakes. I did not have much problem with this as compare to Liang Shanbo Is In Doubt, it applied without a hitch. The flakes are well noticeable and I love how it added a twist to a plain purple holo. Photos showing two coats with topcoat.indigo bananas zhu yingtai is a ladyindigo bananas zhu yingtai is a lady(1)indigo bananas zhu yingtai is a lady(3)indigo bananas zhu yingtai is a lady(4)indigo bananas zhu yingtai is a lady(2)

Lastly I have Love Like Butterflies, the only glitter topper in this collection. It is made up of baby pink and blue butterfly, heart and dot glitters, pink and yellow flower glitters, small yellow hex glitters and holographic shimmers in a clear base. Phew, a lot going on there! Formula was a little thick and I found dabbing method upon application worked best. I didn’t have any problem getting any of the glitters out of the bottle. I was contemplating topping this over Liang Shanbo Is In Doubt or Zhu Yingtai Is A Lady but I do not fancy topping glitters on top of a holo base so I used one coat over two coats of KB Shimmer The Grape Beyond instead.indigo banans love like butterflies (1)indigo bananas love butterfliesindigo banans love like butterflies (4)indigo banans love like butterflies (3)indigo banans love like butterflies (2)

How did these fare? I like the inspiration of the trio and the colours represented the storyline very well. My favourite is Zhu Yingtai Is A Lady. I found Liang Shanbo Is In Doubt a little off against my skin tone; it probably suited better on someone with a warmer or medium skin tone.

The Butterfly Collection is exclusively available individually or as a trio set at Mei Mei Signatures.
