Sparkly Moo & Molly Moo by Moo Moo Signatures

mollysparklymoo

Happy weekend everyone!

Today I am featuring two new colours from Moo Moo Signatures – Sparkly Moo and Molly Moo. The inspiration behind these two colours derived from Mei Mei’s other obsession of needle felting.

Sparkly Moo is inspired and named after Moo Moo Sparkly (see pic of MMS here). Sparkly Moo is a gorgeous concoction of plum holo base accented with gold, red, blue holo iridescent glitters and purple flakies. The consistency was superb with strong holo effect and application was heavenly smooth. I only needed two coats for full opacity.sparklymoosparklymoo(1)sparklymoo(2)sparklymoo(5)sparklymoo(3)sparklymoo(4)

Molly Moo is inspired and named after Moo Moo Molly (see pic of MMS here). Molly Moo is a unique mix of grey holo with sterling silver and gunmetal flakies, silver ultra holo glitters and flakies. The consistency was a tiny bit thick which is understandable considering so much magical ingredients were mixed inside. But it certainly did not hinder the application process. The holo effect is a little more muted as compared to Sparkly Moo which is pretty normal for a grey holo. I used three coats for the photos.mollymoomollymoo(1)mollymoo(4)mollymoo(2)mollymoo(3)mollymoo(5)mollymoo(6)

Mei Mei again hit the ball out of the park with these two new creations! The colour, the mix, the consistency and not forgetting the inspiration behind these two colours are much to be raved about! I love both of them but if I have to pick and since I normally have a penchant for plum colours I’d pick Sparkly Moo!

You can purchase Moo Moo Signatures’ polishes (Big 3 Free) or grab yourself a cute Moo over HERE.

Diamond & Once In A Blue Moo by Moo Moo Signatures

onceinabluemoo(2)

Hi everyone! It is a long weekend over here in Singapore as we are celebrating our 50th year of independence!

Today I am very excited to share with you a new to me brand by Moo Moo Signatures though I am not unfamiliar with its creator. She is none other than the owner of Mei Mei Signatures.

Other than being a stockist for a wide range of indie polish brands she actually has a full time job and now she has ventured in to needle felting and making her own brand of polishes! And not forgetting she has a life outside of all those mayhem too! Sometimes I suspect she is not a human but actually a supersonic machine. I simply cannot comprehend how she does all that. I started buying nail polishes from her when I started my addiction a few years ago and she has the most impeccable customer service which I have mentioned a couple of times before! Through all that I have been fortunate to become great friends with her!

Let’s move on to the pretty stuff shall we?

Diamond which I have on my ring fingernail is described as an ultra strong silver holographic polish accented with sterling silver micro silver flakies and small amount of tiny green and red flakies. Application was a cinch and covered my nail beautifully in two coats. I don’t usually buy silver holographic polish these days as there are just too many variations out there but this is just so sparkly and flattering on the nails! I added the blue star studs to amp up the look more. I do have to apologies that I did not manage to capture it as beautifully as it actually is.

Next we have Once In A Blue Moo that just took my breath away! It is an insanely gorgeous blurple (blue & purple mix) crelly base with colour shifting tiny purple and green flakies. It was a very saturated, opaque and a dream to apply. This was said to be a one coater but it is rare that a polish could be one coater on my big nail bed. The only advise I would give is to apply less strokes on the same area to avoid dragging and creating bald spots as it dried pretty fast. No fault on its formula at all but just a better technic to apply this. I used two coats with topcoat on the rest of my fingernails. Btw this looks great without topcoat too creating a suede like effect.onceinabluemoo(5)onceinabluemoo(4)onceinabluemooonceinabluemoo(6)onceinabluemoo(1)onceinabluemoo(7)onceinabluemoo(3)onceinabluemoo(8)

Mei Mei knows what she is doing and she does it with perfection on these. I absolutely love both of them but Once In A Blue Moo just took my breath away a million times more! Great job my dear friend!

Mei Mei told me that the current version of Diamond has gone in to remission but a new rendition is coming soon! So do look out for that as I am sure it will be just as gorgeous!

You can purchase Moo Moo Signatures’ polishes (Big 3 Free) and if you are in to needle felting don’t forget to check out her Moo Moo too (they are cute as a button!) over HERE.

Don’t forget to follow Moo Moo Signatures’ Facebook and Moo Moo Signatures’ Instagram for any updates!

Counting Stars by Too Fancy Lacquer

Hi all! Sorry I have been missing in action for a bit as I’ve been busying with family events and outings for the past two weekends which left me a little drained out but totally worth it. Nothing is more blissful than quality time with my family.

Anyhow today I have for you Counting Stars by Too Fancy Lacquer. First of all let me start by saying I love the name of this polish. The name of this polish is the title of one of my favourite song by One Republic. I do not know if the name was inspired by the song but I am hoping it is!

Counting Stars is a gorgeous multichrome colour that flashes purple, blue to teal with gold flakies. The multichrome shift are very prominent and the gold flakies totally amp up the gorgeousness. This is quite opaque, slightly on the thick side but I did not have any trouble with applications. I used two coats and topcoat for my photos. And for those people who dislikes strong polish smell, this is a great polish to own as I noticed that the smell is very very mild. This is a love for me!counting stars by too fancy lacquer(1)counting stars by too fancy lacquercounting stars by too fancy lacquer(3)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(4)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(5)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(2)counting stars by too fancy lacquer(6)

To be honest I was contemplating to get this at first but I am so glad that I added this to the cart. Totally love it!

I purchased my bottle of Counting Stars from Mei Mei Signatures, else you can find Too Fancy Lacquer over at her Bigcartel Store.

Perfect Day and Field of Lions by Wingdust Collection

Hello polish world! Today I am going to present to you two colours from the 2013 Summer Collection by Wingdust Collection, Perfect Day and Field of Lions. If you are all familiar with Wingdust Collection you would know that they are somewhat a little different from the rest of the indie brands. Many indie brands at some point would branch out to launch a mix of glitters, crème, holographic and maybe textured polishes. But for Wingdust Collection they have always kept to their specialty that is mixes of glitters, shimmers and especially flakes. It is good to know that a brand stays true to what suit them best and that to me is dedication.

Perfect Day is a pale blue crème top with pink shimmers, periwinkle, pale blue, gold and iridescent hex glitters, pale blue star glitters and 24 karat gold leaf flakes. Formula is excellent on this with minimal clean up. What’s even better was that I didn’t have to fish for the star glitters. I knew that I am going to love this but didn’t expect to love it so much! You are seeing 3 coats with a coat of topcoat.perfect day by wingdustperfect day by wingdust(1)perfect day by wingdust(4)perfect day by wingdust(2)perfect day by wingdust(5)

Field of Lions is a lime green shimmery jelly base with yellow, orange, green and iridescent square and hex glitters. This is another one with excellent formula, no fishing for the glitters and self leveling. Very squishy looking and pretty! You are seeing 3 coats with a coat of topcoat.field of lions by wingdustfield of lions by wingdust(5)field of lions by wingdust(3)field of lions by wingdust(4)

I especially love Perfect Day. The gold leaf flake top against the pale blue was kind of unexpected but worked it out so well. This is definitely going to be included in my all time favorite list.

You can find Wingdust Collection at her Etsy Store or great international stockist like Beauty So Fly.

Nirvana by Takko Lacquer

It’s weekend again and it is already the month of June! Sometimes I try to reflect on what I have done or what I have not done for the past few months I started to realise that time is really going a little too fast. Life has so many shoulda woulda coulda for sure but ultimately happiness is the goal. And I must say I am doing the best that I could to achieve that every day.

Ok enough of rambling about life, today I am going to show you a new to me brand – Takko Lacquer. Takko Lacquer is a 5 free, mineral based and 100% cruel free American brand. To me Takko Lacquer has always been flying under the quiet radar in the indie market but at the same time uniquely popular and sought after. If you have tried Takko Lacquer you will know what I am trying to say.

I am going to show you Nirvana. First of all I want to say I love the name! It is a deep turquoise filled with ample gold flakies. The formula is slightly on the thick side but it didn’t interfere with application at all, it glided on smoothly and evenly. To avoid piling up the thickness I used 2 thin coats for the photos. Topcoat was added.nirvana by takko lacquer(1)nirvana by takko lacquernirvana by takko lacquer(3)nirvana by takko lacquer(2)

I always love a good flakie polish and this is without a doubt a love for me. If you love turquoise and flakie, this is the one to get! My photos didn’t do it any justice, it is way prettier in real life!

The good news is that the next Takko Lacquer’s restock is happening tomorrow 15 June at 7PM EST! But I don’t think Nirvana will be available but I did spot some really gorgeous new colours in this restock! Head over HERE to purchase.

Otherwise make sure you follow Mei Mei Signatures on her Facebook and Instagram as she is one of the few international stockists for Takko Lacquer.

Amortentia by Serum No 5

Weekend is here again! I can’t be any happier as I am taking a few days off work to spend some time with Le Boyfriend as it is his birthday this weekend! Nothing big is planned but we are going for a nice dinner on Sunday. Certainly looking forward to that.

Today I have a special shade to show you guys – Amortentia by Serum No 5, a Mei Mei Singatures‘ exclusive. This is a neon pink textured finished with dark grey flakie and iridescent shimmers. This is unlike some of the textured polish I have tried, the grit is rather fine and smooth touching, formula was perfect and glided on like a breeze. When it comes to painting textured polish I suggest using thin coats otherwise the texture may not form properly. This was supposed to glow a faint purple in the dark but I can’t get it to glow despite charging. I think I am not doing something right. 😦 You probably could get away with 1 coat but I used two coats without topcoat for the photos. I love the wide flat brush too.amortentialamortential1amortential2amortential3

I actually quite like this. The formula was good, super bright and it’s a textured polish! what else can I say other than love!

Amortentia is exclsively available at Mei Mei Signatures and it retails for SGD $16.

This was sent to me generously by Mei Mei Signatures for my unbiased honest review. Thank you dear!
